		<description>Thanks, Tim and yes...I&#039;m already in a number of communities of practice and have spent lots of hours of work for fun or for charity so would not mind some patronage - like during the Renaissance would be just perfect :-)</description>

I picked up your post from the CCK08 course. Congratulations on getting all the invites to take part in events. It must be difficult to find the time and money to participate. I think this must be a common problem for independent practitioners. I think that the options for independent content creation are becoming more limited. In the near future these might come down to finding either; a patron who is willing to pay for your work, a community of practice were collaboration is more effective than individual repoduction, a comerical service you could provide based on the content you want to create or as a recreational activity that you do for fun. Despite the shrinking options it&#039;s still possible to sharing and be creative, free and independent just a little more difficult.
For my part I&#039;m sticking with my patron (the local Further Education Collage) to fund the community based courses I teach while working twoards a more independent future.</description>
