DESCRIBING/DEFINING
There are hundreds of definitions for blogs and the topic has been in the news for quite some time so I am not going to try and define it. A blog is what you want it to be :
a personal blog
- to record your daily life
- to reflect on what happened to you
- to share links/photos/online material with others
- to comment on articles you have read
- to write chapters of a short story
- to invite people to react and think about issues that affect them
a tutor's blog
- to post tips, advice and suggestions
- to bring up specific problems that arise in the classroom and interact with your students on
- to share useful material for the content you are developing
- to concentrate on a specific skill (reading, writing...
a learner's blog
- to record your experience in the classroom
- to reflect on your learning process
- to use it to post your assignments
- to comment on your readings
- to post additional information you have researched
a class blog
- to use as a meeting place where students your class can interact with others after class
- to invite mystery guests for students to find out where they are from
- to create a class bulletin board
- to create a shared logbook and document the different phases of a project
- to engage students in collaborative activities like jigsaw
